The Dream...
"Shinigami Sleeps" is based on an actual dream I had. It begins with Trowa and Quatre having met up at a safe house following their respective missions. Knowing that Duo had been ordered to join them, they wait... and wait, watching the sky for any sign of his arrival. But when Duo does show up, he promptly passes out after landing his Gundam. Trowa and Quatre can't seem to find anything *physically* wrong with him, which worries them all the more.
As they share in the chores of caring for him, Trowa begins to realize how much Duo means to him. He leans in the doorway of Duo's bedroom and watches as Quatre embraces Duo from behind, supporting his unconscious friend. Trowa walks in and sits down beside them. He reaches out to Quatre, covering his hand which is lightly gripping Duo's and touching Duo's face reverently, wishing he would open his eyes.
It is at this moment that Quatre and Trowa understand that they both have feelings for Duo. And they both hope (somewhat anxiously) that when Duo wakes up, he'll choose to be with both of them rather than returning the affections of one and not the other.
