More than you ever wanted to know about The Manwell

Wow, my very own page. And I can write anything I want on here, huh, Stellar? Ah, don't look at me like that... I'll behave myself...No, really... Well, damn it, I'll try!!

Fine. I'll show you I can be serious about this. Let's start off with my goals in life, shall we? I mean, can't get much more "Wo~ah..." than that can ya?

So, okay, my life's ambitions. I suppose I've got three. First: to attain enlightenment through the pursuit of the perfectly written story. Second: to create a sand mandala. (Have you ever watched Tibetan monks make one of those things??? Da~amn...) Third: to punch J.J. Ruiz in the nose and hopefully thereby break it beyond recognition. ... Hm, perhaps I'll have to resolve my anger issues before I manage to make it to Nirvana, hey?

I got hooked on Gundam Wing back in college. That's Stellar's fault, by the way. And then she gets to be the first to read all of the fan fiction I write... Somehow, I think she's got the better end of this deal... I actually started out as a Heero fan. Yeah. I know. What was wrong with me? I mean, Heero's great and all but stand him up next to Trowa and no contest. You know what I mean? (Acrobats. Yum.) And then, more recently, after obsessing about Trowa for nigh on three years, I fell for Duo, too. Don't make me choose between Trowa and Duo. Just don't. I'll hurt you. Seriously.

I suppose some of my readers wonder if Yokaze is a "self insertion" character. According to me, she isn't. According to Stellar, she's got a lot of my mannerisms and attitude. In fact, I keep trying to kill her off (Yokaze, not Stellar) but nothing doing. Stellar says she'll kill me if I croak Yokaze even if it will mean no more fan fiction from me. Ever. Again. Yeah. She's real serious. So Yokaze lives... for now.

I'm an avid collector of Gundam Wing doujinshi (fan comics). I love the way the artist can tell a story with just line drawings of facial expressions. Wow. It's like the ultimate utilitarian storytelling mechanism. Nothing superfluous. I endeavor to do that with my writing. Just tell the story and no more. It's kind of like the philosophy behind writing haiku. Just enough and no more. Yeah, that's deep, isn't it?

I took myself off to Japan to live and work for two years. That was cool. I can't get into too much detail because, like, this is way long already. But if you're curious, ask me about it sometime: leo_masters at yahoo.com

Oh, and if you just want to tell me how amazing my fan fictions are, that's okay, too.
